FOCUS: Astonomical Units & WOD #4 (bring calculators all week)
WOD: a comprehensive list of vocabulary words that will be used, studied, and quizzed the entire year. WOD will be listed in BOLD. Write the date, word, and definition in your planner each day.
Monday: (ELLIPSE) ISAT warm up. how does gravity hold the Earth and other planets? What has gravity? How do we measure gravity?
HW: Gravity equation worksheet. Gravity on other planet worksheet. Find your weight on another planet.
Tuesday: (ECCENTRICITY) ISAT warm up. Keplar's Laws of Motion. #1 Shape of orbit. Learn how to create the shape of an ellipse. Key terms: major axis, minor (semimajor) axis, focal points, focal distance, and eccentricity. E=fd/ma.
HW: No homework.
Wednesday: (SOLSTICE) ISAT warm up. Keplar's Laws of Motion. #2 Speed in orbit
HW: No homework.
Thursday: (EQUINOX) ISAT warm up. Keplar's Laws of Motion. #3 Time of orbit. Learn how to calculate period of revolution based on distance from the sun. The period of revolution squared is equal to distance from the sun cubed.
HW: Law of Motion
Friday: (OBLIQUITY) ISAT warm up. How do we get season?
HW: Have a great weekend and rest for ISAT's and hope for some warm spring weather.
