Syllabus 2/16/09

Syllabus for the week of February 16, 2009

FOCUS: Astonomical Units & WOD #4 (bring calculators all week)

WOD: a comprehensive list of vocabulary words that will be used, studied, and quizzed the entire year. WOD will be listed in BOLD. Write the date, word, and definition in your planner each day.

Monday: (GRAVITY/MASS) NO SCHOOL - PRESIDENT'S DAY
HW: No homework.

Tuesday: (CENTRIPETAL) ISAT WARM UP. How planets stay where they are at? Centripetal and Centrifugal forces and how they relate to planets and orbits. What part of the apparatus relates to astronmy. Diagram the apparauts and how it relates to astronomical terms or ideas.
HW: Make sure you have all the WOD words up to last week. Test Friday.

Wednesday: (CENTRIFUGAL) ISAT WARM UP. How do we create numbers that are more reasonable to understand? Astronomical Units of distance, mass, and others. Scaling measurements.
HW: Astronomical Unit worksheet.

Thursday: (PERIHELION) STUDY SESSION AT LUNCH (you must bring your words) Go over Astronomical Units worksheet. Study WOD #4.
HW: Study WOD words NOT including this weeks.

Friday: (APHELION) WOD #4 TEST!!! Come prepared for the test. That means you should have study before today.
HW: No homework, but be ready to work on math again next week.
