FOCUS: Phases, Tides, Eclipses, & Astronomy Power Point Wednesday, Thursday, & Friday.
WOD: a comprehensive list of vocabulary words that will be used, studied, and quizzed the entire year. WOD will be listed in BOLD. Write the date, word, and definition in your planner each day.
Monday: (NEAP) Lunar phases & the relation to tides.
HW: Complete the graph on the tides.
Tuesday: (WANING) How does the moon not only affect tides but eclipses? Learn the parts of the eclipse and the types.
HW: Eclipse diagram
Wednesday: (WAXING) Input any information on your solar test. Layers of the sun, actual and apparent distance, brightness, & size. HW: Bring in research or an article about a recent astronomical event. Include a one-page summary and reflection about how this event has affected you and your life or how it has not.
Thursday: (PENUMBRA) Input any information from you planetary section. Use your worksheets or test for examples.
HW: No homework.
Friday: (UMBRA) Input information on seasons, tides, lunar phases, and eclipses. Input your astronomical current event.
HW: Chemistry Introduction
Reminders:
* GREEN & HEALTHY IDEA (from students): Find a favorite fruit and pick up the fruit at the store for short exercise.
* PARENT/GUARDIAN(S): None.
* MR. APOSTOL’S ADV.: Wear your gym shoes on Thursday.
