FOCUS: Tide and Section 3 Review

WOD: a comprehensive list of vocabulary words that will be used, studied, and quizzed the entire year. WOD will be listed in BOLD. Write the date, word, and definition in your planner each day.


Monday (RESEARCH)
Morning: Look at examples in abstracts of hypotheses. Create a web of ideas for your topic or research. Develop your own hypotheses.
Morning HW: Write 5 predictions/hypotheses on your topic in the form "If..., then..."
Afternoon: Same as the morning.
Afternoon HW: Same as the morning.

Tuesday (INDEPENDENT/DEPENDENT)
Morning: What is the difference between independent and dependent variables?
Morning HW: Read the 5 abstracts and find the independent and dependent variables.
Afternoon: Same as the morning.
Afternoon HW: Same as the morning.

Wednesday (QUALITATIVE/QUANTITATIVE)
Morning:
Morning HW: Read the 5 abstracts and find the following: 1) What is being measured and unit? 2) Is it qualitative or quantitative? for each of the 5 abstracts.
Afternoon: Same as the morning.
Afternoon HW: Same as the morning.

Thursday (PROCEDURES)
Morning: Create a Test/Experiment. How do you develop the procedures, materials, skills, etc. needed for my experiment?
Morning HW: Find a set of directions, recipes, instructions and list 5 keys/steps to writing an experiment.
Afternoon: Same as the morning.
Afternoon HW: Same as the morning.

Friday (CONTROLLED)
Morning: How do you make your experiment "fair"? What are controlled variable?
Morning HW: Be ready to create your own experimental design.
Afternoon: Same as the morning.
